Many of the items discovered in King Tutankhamen’s tomb were made with Lapis including his mask. Lapis Lazuli known as Blue Gold during the middle ages.
The Lapis is applied through a proprietary process which makes the stone particles stand on end, creating a finish of greater depth and reflectivity. Solid 22 karat gold flake is suspended in the finish before several layers of clear top lacquer are applied.
